Suburb Snapshot – St Kilda

The beachside suburb of St Kilda is a perfect retreat just a stones’ throw from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Located only 7kms from the CBD the area is easily accessible and boasts plenty of public transport options. St Kilda has certainly cemented itself as an ideal suburb within Melbourne. With Sunday markets, bars, cafes and walking trails throughout this area support the lifestyles of families, couples and working professionals.

With high rent prices achieved throughout the suburb and a low vacancy rate of 1.1% this is an area which does not appear to be facing any difficulties in sourcing potential tenants.

There is a current overall median rent of $420, accounting for all properties within the suburb. This includes a steady growth of $5 per quarter since March 2017. It has also faced no downfall in median rent since June 2014.

Since the re-development of the well-known Esplanade Hotel, reviving the live music scene in the area as well as both the 2018 & 2019 “The Block” series being filmed – there is always something going on around these streets.

The suburb has multiple new developments into 2019, as well as some gentrification and refurbishment of buildings in the area. St Kilda is a suburb which is shaking its old reputation and delving further into a thriving suburb.

With ample schooling options, as well as the range of lifestyle and social activities in the area. St Kilda is the perfect, resort-like suburb suitable for all!
